By Luca Artioli
December 2nd - 8th, 2024
Timeless Currents embodies the essence of an eternal, flowing energy that transcends time, seamlessly weaving together the past, present, and future. Curated by Waterfall Art & Gallery, this exhibition highlights Luca Artioli’s remarkable talent for transforming static moments into dynamic experiences, capturing the perpetual vitality inherited from art and life.
As part of Sagamore’s Art Basel Miami exhibition, Michelangelo’s Eternal Creations, Artioli’s evocative photographs engage in a profound dialogue with Michelangelo’s classical masterpieces, meticulously recreated in .999 pure silver by the renowned Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli. Through his lens, Artioli not only honors the timeless legacy of these sculptures but also breathes contemporary vibrancy into their storied forms, inviting viewers to experience the harmonious interplay of history and modernity.
In Timeless Currents, Artioli creates a visual symphony that bridges eras, intertwining Michelangelo’s eternal genius with the dynamic energy of contemporary life. This dialogue between history, movement, and light immerses viewers in an experience that transcends the boundaries of time, inviting them to participate in a living narrative that celebrates art’s legacy and transformative symbology.
Luca Artioli is an Italian photographer based in Milan and Miami since 2008. Drawing inspiration from French Impressionist Claude Monet (1840–1926), Luca Artioli has spent over a decade mastering the Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) technique, transforming his digital camera into a painter’s brush. This innovative approach allows him to compose evocative, painterly images that transcend traditional photography. By introducing deliberate motion into otherwise static scenes, Artioli captures the fluidity and flux of the environments he traverses. From iconic architecture and intimate portraits to sweeping natural landscapes, his photographs embody a sense of transition, bathed in soft light and fluid forms that echo the ephemeral beauty of life.

Artioli's artistry is celebrated not only for his mastery of the camera but also for his poetic expression.
His portfolio features iconic cities and landscapes from New York, Milan, Dominican Republic, Madagascar, Bermuda, Guatemala and Miami, with the ICM technique imbuing his images with a sense of transition and ethereal quality. This approach creates a unique visual experience where light and motion blend to evoke a softer, more poetic atmosphere. Through his work, Artioli invites viewers to engage in a visual dialogue, allowing them to project their own narratives onto the scenes and deepen the timeless interaction between natural landscapes, urban structures and their observers.
Born in Milan and residing in Miami since 2008, Artioli left a finance career in 2000 after earning a Master’s degree in Photography to pursue his passion for light and poetry. In a short span, he has published several books with Mondadori, Italy's leading publishing house, some of which have been translated into multiple languages.
